Metal materials commonly used in CNC machining

1. Aluminium alloy

Aluminum alloys have excellent strength-to-weight ratio, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and natural corrosion protection. They are easy to process and low in volume cost, so they are often the most economical option for manufacturing custom metal parts and prototypes. It is also used in aircraft parts, car parts, bicycle frames and food containers because it is lightweight, non-magnetic, resistant to corrosion and cheap. Aluminum alloy is probably the most widely used material for CNC milling.

2. Brass

Brass is widely considered to be one of the simplest and most cost-effective materials for precision machining services. Brass has high strength, high hardness and strong resistance to chemical corrosion. In addition, brass is easy to work, smooth and clean surface, can be used in the manufacture of medical devices, consumer products, electronic hardware and contacts, accessories, commercial products, etc.

3. Carbon steel

Q235 steel is a kind of commonly used carbon steel, it will increase with the thickness of the material and the yield value decreases, due to moderate carbon content, better comprehensive performance, strength, plasticity and welding performance is better match, the most widely used.

4. Stainless Steel

Stainless steel alloys are resistant to most stains and rusts. The material is favored for its strength and corrosion resistance, and can be used in anything from surgical equipment to electronic hardware. Stainless steel is a very versatile material, relatively light and durable, expanding its application in various industries.
